A chemical tanker trailer refers to a tanker used to transport various acidic, toxic, or corrosive liquid products. In China, several different chemical tanker trailers are used to haul different types of petro-chemicals, acids, hazardous materials, corrosives, additives, base oils, finished lubricants, glycols, hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, motor fuels, petroleum distillates, resins, solvents, and specialty chemicals.
A chemical tanker trailer can be filled up from the top and bottom, and its hierarchy in the single or five compartments, discharged by gravity or pump-driven.

Environmental factors include distance, terrain, and climate.
First, the dimensions of a chemical tanker trailer depend on the volume and weight per gallon transported. Smaller tanks holding 3,800 - 5,000 gallons are used to transport products with higher specific gravity. Standard chemical trailers can hold 6,000 to 7,000 gallons. Some tank trailers can hold up to 8,000 gallons to transport lighter products.
Next, the type of product being transported and its chemical properties are critical considerations. The chemical properties will determine the type of raw material for the tank (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum) and whether or not a liner is required. For example, if the liquid being transported is acidic or corrosive, then the tank must have an acid or corrosion-resistant liner, or it will degrade quickly.
Finally, the properties of the chemical, as well as the shipping and receiving facilities, will determine the best loading and unloading configuration for the unit. Some chemical liquids are more viscous than others and may require a sloped, deep drop trailer for loading and unloading. Other chemicals may be volatile and require a vapor recovery system. Alternatively, an air pump is another way to move liquids.

Chemical properties of the product. The first thing to consider is the chemical properties of what is being transported; for example, some chemical liquids are more viscous than others; some chemical liquids may react chemically with unsuitable tank raw materials. Therefore, we need to be very careful in choosing the right trailer so that an adverse chemical reaction does not occur when transporting chemical products.
Loading and unloading. Top loading and unloading is a very critical practice for the transportation of chemicals, and we will have to determine the best loading and unloading arrangements for the unit for these chemical products. Bottom unloading is more common and allows for the creation of a bellied line that allows for a central unloading location, usually near a ladder at the curb of the trailer.
Vapor recovery systems. Some chemicals may be flammable, which requires the use of a vapor recovery system in tank trailers. A vapor recovery system is a setup designed to remove harmful and unwanted vapors from a chemical product rather than creating a buildup in the tank. It also improves purity and prevents hazardous chemical contaminants from entering the environment.
ESC Systems. ESC systems have been used in the tank trailer industry in China in recent years. These intelligent systems detect rollovers or loss of directional control and can safely apply the tanker's brakes to prevent accidents from occurring.
